Community Service Award for Youth Volunteers

The City of Miramichi has adopted a policyto provide for the suitable recognition and acknowledgement of outstanding voluntary contributions of young people to their community through the bestowal of  “Community Service Award for Youth Volunteers”.

Nominations for the award shall be received by city council until Wednesday, December 14, 2011, on the approved form available from City Hall, 141 Henry Street, Miramichi, NB E1V 2N5, 506-623-2205 or or can be downloaded as well as a copy of the policy. Community Service Award for Volunteers

Candidates nominated must 18 years of age or younger and have at least 100 hours of dedicated service to the community in one of the following categories:

• Education and Learning
• Business and Commercial
• Politics
• Community Service for Sick, Elderly, Disabled or Handicapped
• Religion
• Recreation and Athletics
• Heritage and Culture
• Communication and the Media
• Community Development

An official ceremony to honour successful candidates shall be held during the annual New Year’s Levee held by the City.

The City has determined that no more than two (2) candidates shall be awarded the distinction each year.

Récompense aux jeunes bénévoles pour services communautaires

La Ville de Miramichi a adopté une politique visant à reconnaître et attester adéquatement les contributions bénévoles remarquables de jeunes gens envers leur communauté en décernant la « Récompense aux jeunes bénévoles pour services communautaires ».

Les nominations pour la récompense doivent être reçues par le Conseil municipal jusqu’au mercredi 14 decembre 2011 en se servant du formulaire disponible au Hotel de Ville au 141, rue Henry, Miramichi (N.-B.) E1V 2N5, au 506-623-2205 ou à cette page.

Les candidats en nomination doivent avoir au moins quinze (15) ans de services communautaires dédiés dans l’une des catégories suivantes :

• Éducation et formation
• Affaires et commerce
• Politique
• Services communautaires aux malades, aux aînés ou aux handicapés
• Religion
• Sports et loisirs
• Patrimoine et culture
• Communication et les médias
• Développement communautaire

Une cérémonie officielle afin d’honorer les candidats choisis aura lieu au cours de la réception du jour de l’an organisée par la Ville.

La Ville a décidé qu’un maximum de deux (2) candidats ou candidates par année peuvent recevoir la distinction
