The City of Miramichi adopted a Strategic Plan on

The strategic planning process began in 2005 with input from Mayor and Council, city staff and community members.

The Vision Statement of the City of Miramichi is “to be the most progressive, prosperous and healthiest community in Canada.” The vision will be achieved by utilizing the talents of the region’s people and by demonstrating shared values, focusing on the mission and working toward the strategic priorities and objectives that have been established.

The mission of the City is to provide services and encourage growth to ensure an outstanding quality of life for all of its citizens. To achieve its mission, the City of Miramichi is committed to promoting the following three strategic priorities at all levels within the organization.

1. Effective and efficient use of human, financial and capital resources;

2. Economic growth and sustainability; and

3. Consistency.
