Responsible For:

Employee and Labor Relations
Labor relations; collective agreement administration and interpretation; handling of grievances; contract negotiations; development and administration of human resource policies and practices; and assistance on individual employee issues through such avenues as an Employee Family Assistance program.

Recruitment Program
Provides effective recruitment services to City departments; meeting all provincial and federal legislation and the intent of the applicable collective agreements.

All available unionized positions are posted internally and if no successful application, positions are advertised in the press. The extent of the circulation depends on the level of the position.

Compensation and Benefit Administration
Development of compensation policies and practices; job evaluation systems; pension and benefit administration; and claims management.
