The Human Resources Department for the City of Miramichi
strives to offer all employees the opportunity to maximize

to the people who live, work and visit the Miramichi.
We believe and fully support that our workforce is
key in effectively delivering public services.
Human Resources is only one of many components that
contributes daily to the operation of a Municipal Government.
Responsible For:
Employee and Labor Relations
Labor relations; collective agreement administration and interpretation; handling
of grievances; contract negotiations; development and administration of human
resource policies and practices; and assistance on individual employee issues
through such avenues as an Employee Family Assistance program.
Recruitment Program
Provides effective recruitment services to City departments; meeting all provincial
and federal legislation and the intent of the applicable collective agreements.
All available unionized positions are posted internally
and if no successful application, positions are advertised
in the press. The extent of the circulation depends
on the level of the position.
Compensation and Benefit
Administration
Development of compensation policies and practices; job evaluation systems;
pension and benefit administration; and claims management.
Staff and Organization
Development
Development, delivery, and evaluation of learning opportunities, programs and
systems; and the provision of consulting services for individual and organization
development and effectiveness.
Payroll
Provides accurate bi-weekly pay including pay and benefit accounting for all
City of Miramichi employees.
