Chief of Police – Earl M. Campbell

Chief Earl Campbell was born and raised in Douglastown, NB. He graduated from Harkins Academy Senior High in Newcastle, NB and joined Newcastle Police Force as a Constable in 1972.

He attended training at the Atlantic Police Academy in Summerside, PEI the Canadian Police College in Ottawa, ON and took part in various service training courses with the R.C.M.P. During his time with Newcastle Police, he spent 6 years as a shift supervisor, 3 years as a major crime detective, 3 years as the Chief Reader, and 3 years as Deputy Chief. He was appointed Deputy Chief of the newly amalgamated Miramichi Police Force in 1996 until January 1, 2001 when he was appointed Chief of Police.

Chief Campbell is Secretary/Treasurer of both the Atlantic Association of Chiefs of Police and the NB Association of Chiefs of Police. He is married to the lovely Kathy Campbell and resides with their daughter Jana in Miramichi, formerly Douglastown. Their son Adem attends University in Fredericton. Chief Campbell has an identical twin brother, Merle, who is a Sergeant and the Training/Media officer with Miramichi Police Force.
