The Police Resource Integrated System of Management (PRISM) is a unique technology initiative for empowering and mobilizing all community stakeholders for their crime prevention concerns.
This initiative has been developed in partnership between the Miramichi Police Force and the Child Safety Research and Innovation Center (CSRIC). |
The system is comprised of:
- A Police Management System and an integrated
- Community Safety Portal
The Police Management System mobilizes the entire police force in initiating and maintaining components, objectives, and operational implications of community policing.
- The Police Management System tracks and compiles Police Inputs of crime statistics and trends, from PORS/CAD Entries.
- It also Tracks and compiles Community Inputs regarding community concerns expressed to police officers through Public Surveys and Neighbourhood Committees.
- It identifies appropriate human and material resources for responding to specific requests using its relational database and integrated portal.
- The system generates reports for facilitation of managerial responses to community needs and resource allocation, which include:
- Measurement of resource allocation
- Measurement of outcomes
- Tracking of training records of police officers.
- Linking to individual officer profiles to identify and document all police personnel’s strengths, interests, and aspersions; thereby, enhancing the organizational learning curve.
These reports facilitate completion of performance appraisals and the community policing component of the promotional processes.
