Daily sailings depart from Beaubears Interpretive Centre in Nelson-Miramichi, with visits to Beaubears Island and Wilsons Point. The "Spirits of the River" Tour is offered two evenings a week.
Eagles Nest Tour We leave Beaubears Interpretive Centre, Monday to Friday at 3 p.m. for a 2½-hour tour. This is a relaxing tour in which a light lunch (marine snack) is served. We sail along Beaubears Island through a man-made cut between what is now Wilsons Point and Beaubears Island, through a First Nations community; you can see eagle’s nests and often the eagles themselves. Top off the tour with a true experience of the Miramichi River in its tranquil, hypnotic way.
SPECIAL DAYS and times are set aside to ensure you have an opportunity to experience the Miramichi River. Toonie Boat Rides, Appreciation Day every Sunday, Hourly boat rides and Private or Contract Group Tours, which include birthday’s weddings and socials are also available.
Our licensed Captain’s Tour Boat offers a licensed bar, washroom, lots of space to walk around, take pictures or enjoy the passing scenery.

Miramichi Dragway Park is a 1/4 mile dragstrip and has the best traction in Eastern Canada starting with it’s 120 foot concrete launch pads to a well maintained asphalt track surface of 1320 feet and 2200 feet of shutdown area. The racing season runs from May through October.

Beaubears Island is situated in the Miramichi River just outside the boundaries of the City of Miramichi, between the former Town of Newcastle and the Village of Nelson-Miramichi. Wilsons Point is located at The Enclosure and it is the point opposite Beaubears Island. It is recognized for two designations of national historical significance by the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada.
Boishébert National Historic Site of Canada, one of its dual designations, tells the story of Charles Deschamps de Boishébert who led the Acadians to Beaubears Island and Wilsons Point where they took refuge after the deportation of 1755.
Beaubears Island Shipbuilding National Historic Site of Canada, J.Leonard O’Brien Memorial, is the only known extensive, undisturbed archaeological site, which still exists today, associated with the 19th century wooden shipbuilding industry in New Brunswick, and perhaps Canada.
Be sure to visit the Beaubears Island Interpretive Centre at Bicentennial Park in (Nelson) Miramichi where you will learn more about the Mik’maq, Acadian, Shipbuilding and the heritage of the local area.

The Cove is a multi-season family park offering canoe, kayak and paddleboat rentals in the summer; spectacular scenery in the fall when the cove is ablaze with vibrant colours of red, yellow and orange; and skating and sliding in winter. Mountain Bike Trails at French Fort Cove
The best cross country mountain biking experience in Atlantic Canada starts at the French Fort Cove, Miramichi. Park at the
playground parking lot on King George Highway. Please park to the right side
and start your ride by the permanent trail map. Riders are asked to not ride
around the "crushed rock" trail by the playground and canteen as there are
often families with small children and seniors. The mountain bike trails are
accessed by riding two multi-use trails (trails #1 and #2) with several walkers and hikers,
please exercise caution and yield right of way. There is approximately 20 kms
of the fastest, hard pack single track in the East and another 10+ kms of double track and
woods roads. Trails are well marked and mapped, anyone with some mountain
bike experience can handle the more technical spots. As always ride within your abilities and walk it if you are unsure. Please respect the trail and other users and wildlife.

of a
