The uni-directional flushing has been completed as of April 25, 2024 on the high side of the Newcastle Water System.
Update on uni-directional flushing in the Newcastle Water System
The City of Miramichi Public Works Department started unidirectional flushing in the Newcastle Water System on Saturday, April 20, 2024 and will continue to Friday April 26, 2024. As of today, Monday, April 22, 2024, 41 of the 105 sequences have been completed.
Newcastle Water System flushing set to begin Saturday, April 20
The City of Miramichi will be carrying out uni-directional flushing in the Newcastle Water System beginning Saturday, April 20, 2024 and continuing to Friday, April 26, 2024.
Boil order lifted for Newcastle Water System: High Side
The boil order has been lifted as of 2 p.m., April 17, 2024 in the Newcastle Water System for the areas north of railway tracks, Old King George Highway and King George Highway from civic #731 to 887.

Update: Boil Order issued for Newcastle Water System: High Side
A boil water advisory has been ordered by the Department of Health on the CITY OF Miramichi for the following location; Newcastle Water System – HIGH SIDE.
The areas effected areas are for the north side of the railway tracks including Old King George Highway and King George Highway between civic 731 and 887.
The south side is not affected.

The purpose of the proposed amendment is to amend Schedule “A” - Zoning Map of the City of Miramichi Zoning By-Law (By-Law No. 110) to change the zoning from “Medium Density A (R-3)” to “Medium Density B (R-4)” for the subject property described as PID 40552937 located at Creaghan Avenue, in the City of Miramichi.

The City of Miramichi wishes to advise City residents that FERO will be picking up leaves separate from regular household garbage for two Saturdays, May 4th and May 25th. All leaves should be at curb side no later than 7:00 a.m. Please note: It is recommended that leaves be in biodegradable bags.

Boil order has been lifted in the Newcastle area.
The Newcastle water system was sampled Friday night and into Saturday and all results returned today April 14, 2024 at 2 p.m. as clear.
