Smoke Alarm Program – Get alarmed Miramichi!
Launched in January 2020, the Smoke Alarm program delivers education and install smoke alarms in at-risk homes across the City.
We recommends that you install at least one smoke alarm on every level of your home. Even better is one in every bedroom. Smoke alarms are designed to wake you up if a fire starts while you are sleeping.
If you are in need of a smoke detector, the Miramichi Fire Department provides free units for residents (while supplies last).
