Notice to user groups of sports facilities and facilities

Requests for the use of facilities for the Fall / Winter 2016-17 season must be received at the recreation office no later than 4:00 p.m. on June 17, 2016.

Requests should be submitted in writing to the recreation office.

Facilities include: MVHS Gymnasium and Mezzanine, Lindon Recreation Center, Golden Hawk Recreation Complex, Lord Beaverbrook Arena and Miramichi Civic Center.

« Facility Use Request » forms are available at the recreation office during regular business hours (Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm) or a request can be sent in writing via email at anna.dean@miramichi.org or at 94-4 General Manson Way, Miramichi NB E1N 6K8.

POSTER REMOVAL

Effective July 2, 2014, the City of Miramichi will remove all unauthorized signage from the right-of-way of municipal and provincial roads, including utility poles. The owners of the posters in these regions who have not obtained a specific authorization from the municipality will have until July 1, 2014 to remove them. After this date, the posters will be removed and liable to destruction. All questions regarding this notice can be directed to the municipal secretary’s office at 623-2212

NOTICE TO OWNERS OF DOGS

Dog owners are reminded of the following sections of By-law 8, A City of Miramichi Animal Control Ridge.

Wandering animal

8. The owner of an animal found to be stray is liable for the fees set out in Appendix A

EXCREMENTS

9. The owner of an animal which defecates in a public place or on private property other than his own is required to immediately remove the faeces. This article does not apply to owners of guide dogs.

PENALTIES

14. (1) Any person, corporation, partnership or association who contravenes any provision of this Order commits an offense and is liable, on summary conviction, to a fine. from fifty to two hundred dollars and, in default of payment, to imprisonment under the Provincial Offenses Procedure Act, fines recoverable under the provisions of the Summary Convictions Act.

First offense $ 50

Second offense $ 75
Third offense and any subsequent offense $ 100

The Miramichi Community Wellness and Recreation Department would like to advise you that the inspection and cleaning of docks, fields, trails, playgrounds, parks and tennis courts are currently underway.
