Historic Beaverbrook House

This beautiful Victorian-style home, built in 1877, was the boyhood home of Lord Beaverbrook.  Enjoy the carefully restored architecture as you learn about the life of Max Aitken, Lord Beaverbrook and of the building’s service as The Old Manse Library.  This was the first library in the area and Dr. Louise Manny, founder of the Miramichi Folksong Festival, was the first librarian.  The building has had an interesting and sometimes challenging history. Definitely worth a visit.

Open Monday to Saturday 9 am to 5 pm, and Sundays from 12 PM to 5 PM – from mid-June to August. GENERAL TOUR FEE $5.00.  Off season call for an appointment.

Located at 518 King George Highway.  Call 506-622-5572.
