Centennial Bridge water taxi begins operation June 9th

The water taxi can carry 10 passengers and has bike racks on the front.

A water taxi service will be operated by the Department of Transportation on the Miramichi River.  
The vessel is a 10-passenger pontoon with bike racks on the front.   

Service begins June 9, 2026 and will continue through the summer. An end date will be confirmed as the season progresses.  

The service will operate seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., depending on the weather, between Station Wharf Marina and Miramichi Boat and Yacht Club (MBYC). 

The service is free.

The service is being provided to supplement the existing transit system while the Centennial Bridge is closed for rehabilitation.  A transit stop is planned to be added by the City of Miramichi in the area of the Miramichi Boat and Yacht Club.
