Centennial Bridge Project

The bridge is expected to be fully closed between April 1 and December, 2026

Closures will take place in both 2026 and 2027 to replace the bridge deck on the north and south approach spans. An additional closure will be needed to carry out the final phase, replacing the bridge deck for the centre spans.

Who’s Responsible for the Project?

The Centennial Bridge work is being completed by the Government of New Brunswick Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, not the City of Miramichi.

The City’s role is to support residents and help manage local impacts, including communication, planning, and disruption mitigation. This Information Centre and Voyent Alerts are part of that effort to keep the public informed throughout the project.

With the bridge closure in effect, we recommend giving yourself extra time and planning your route before your commute. A few extra minutes of prep can save you a lot of frustration.
