Notice of Public Hearing - Municipal Plan and Zoning By-Law - Hansen Road

PUBLIC NOTICE

The City of Miramichi intends to consider amendments to its Municipal Plan, being By-Law No. 109 entitled “City of Miramichi Municipal Plan By-Law” and Zoning By-Law, being By-Law No. 110 and entitled “City of Miramichi Zoning By-Law”.

The purpose of the proposed amendment is to enable a phased, mixed-use development which includes a daycare facility and six 8-unit townhouse units.  This requires the City to Amend Schedule B: Residential Hierarchy and Designations of the City of Miramichi Municipal Plan (By-Law 109), to change the designation to ‘Mixed Residential Area’ from ‘Single-Unit Residential Area’; and Schedule A: Zoning Map of the City of Miramichi Zoning By-Law (By-Law No. 110), to change the zoning to “Medium Density B (R-4)” from “Single Unit Dwelling (R-1)”; for the subject properties described as PISs 40559015 and 40559007, located on Hansen Road in the City of Miramichi.

The Council will proceed with a Public Hearing of the proposed amendment on September 22, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the City Hall, 141 Henry Street, Miramichi, NB.

Interested parties may inspect the proposed by-law online at the City’s website www.miramichi.org by searching “Proposed By-Laws”.
