After hearing from businesses and Miramichiers at the recent open house event in Miramichi, the Centennial Bridge closure has been delayed to close to all traffic on Monday, April 6, 2026 after Easter weekend.

The Department of Transportation held an Open House to provide an update on the status of the Centennial Bridge and discuss future work.
The bridge will be closed for eight months from April 1 and Dec. 1 in both 2026 and 2027 to replace the bridge deck on the north and south approach spans. An additional closure will be needed to carry out the final phase, replacing the bridge deck for the centre spans.
