Hydrant Flushing - 2026

The City of Miramichi Public Works Department wishes to advise businesses and residents that the flushing of water lines will being on Monday, June 8th and continue until August 7th, 2026.

Hydrant flushing will occur in various areas of the city at different times. Flushing will be inclusive between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.

This flushing is part of routine operation and maintenance of the water distribution system. Residents may temporarily experience some discoloration in the water or decrease in water pressure while this work is being completed.

The Public Works Department apologizes for the inconvenience this may cause.

Hydrant flushing will take place in the following areas on the following dates:

• June 8th to July 10th - in the former Town of Chatham, the former Village of Douglastown, and in the area known as SkyPark (former CFB Chatham).

• July 13th to July 22nd - Zone 1 - in the former Town of Newcastle, north of railway tracks and east of Newcastle Boulevard to Old King George Highway

• July 23rd to August 7th - Zone 2 - in the former Town of Newcastle, just south of railway tracks on Newcastle Boulevard and west to Curtis Road.

NOTE: Residents of these affected areas will be notified on a regular basis of the specific dates when flushing will occur in their area. Adjustments to the schedule may be required at times.
