City of Miramichi invites community to support final phase of fundraising campaign for Arbec Wellness Centre

The Arbec Wellness Centre is on schedule to open in September 2026.

The Arbec Wellness Centre fundraising committee is inviting local businesses, families, and residents to become a partner in contributing to building the future central hub for recreation, wellness, and social connection in the City of Miramichi.

“The Arbec Wellness Centre will be an exciting new chapter for Miramichi, and we want everyone to be a part if it,” said Hal Somers, chair of the fundraising committee.

The state-of-the-art facility will replace aging infrastructure and provide modern amenities that cater to the diverse needs of the growing population.

The building will feature an aquatic center, a modern arena, a double gymnasium, and expansive wellness areas, each designed to promote health, fitness, and community engagement.

After a successful first phase of fundraising focused on naming rights, there are three new opportunities to support the project. They are:

  • Wellness Centre Supporter - $10,000 to $19,999

  • Wellness Centre Champion - $20,000 plus

  • Put Your Name on a Seat - $500

Champions and Supporters will be permanently recognized on the Donor Recognition Wall that will be in the lobby where it will be visible to the thousands of residents and visitors who will pass through its doors each year.

“For local businesses and citizens who are able, supporting the Wellness Centre isn’t just a generous act,” said Adam Lordon, mayor of the City of Miramichi. “It also demonstrates your commitment to our community, to family wellness, and to building the future of our region together.”

More information on the campaign is available at miramichi.org or by calling Sandra Gauger at 506-623-2205.
